The tour begins with pick up from the hotel and a transfer to Caltagirone, the Sicilian potteries’ capital city. As arrived, a potter master will show us the pottery manufacturing, righ after we will have a walk in the town centre visiting the church of Santa Maria del Monte and the famous stair of the same name with its 142 pottery adorned steps.

The stair was built to connected the high town and the down town. We’ll visit also the San Giuliano Cathedral and the pottery regional museum. After the lunch break we’ll leave Caltagirone to go to Piazza Armerina famous for its Villa Romana del Casale. The Villa, of the IV century A.C. is a magnificent rural abode with enchanting roman mosaics.

Considered the most beautiful and best preserved of their kind, these mosaics are part of the Unesco World Heritage List.

Transfer back to the hotel.
